Then again, there was only that series debut - A Simpsons Christmas, in 1989 - the next episode was weeks later in 1990. My memory is a little fuzzy - if you say that Bart said those in the very first episode, I'll believe ya.
(A lot of people also make the mistake of "remembering" that Dirty Harry says "Go ahead, make my day" in the first movie... ) |

I have a lot of favorite quotes from the movie "Heathers" in 1989:
"She's such a pillow case".
"F**k me gently with a chainsaw". I don't know why it makes me laugh everytime I say it! _________________ "I told you, I don't think it's a good idea to go out with the boss." Alex Owens |

Ah yes, the great Year 1-10 debate...
*opens up the floor to quotes from 1990!*

So 1980 belongs to the 70s? _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne - The Shawshank Redemption)

ROFL. I had headaches when people commemorated the millennium passage from 1999 to 2000.
But in this case, 1990 doesn't belong to the 80's, since 80's here is the set of years with the property of being in the 80 tens. It's a cardinal property.
The century or millennium problem is that they belong to an ordinal class and since there was no year zero and each ordinal position must have a full number of that class (100 for century and 1000 for millennium), the last element of the N-th representative of the ordinal class must be the first element of the next cardinal class.
IT dummies would write station's name as 198? or 198* |

Also, we do have some stuff from 1979 on here. Mostly because they were still big hits in the 80s.
I'm more likely to add something from 79 than 89 because of the carryover into the 80s decade is more appropriate for 1980s.FM than the 90s is. |

That theory of cultural relevance makes sense. Unless one were to travel back in time to take a hit from the 90's and take it to the charts in the 80's... *backs up a few steps, sprints and jumps into the Delorean...*
If anyone has any Simpsons quotes from The Tracy Ullman Show, I think we would all be amenable to those. |

Well maybe we must start a thread with Quotes that are not really from the 80s, but they feel like they come from the 80s. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne - The Shawshank Redemption)
